Four New England organizations named technology pioneers

By James M. Connolly

The World Economic Forum has announced its selections for the forum’s 2011 Technology Pioneers, including four New England organizations in the list of 31 winners drawn from around the globe.

The New England companies are industrial lighting company Digital Lumens of Boston, biotech Adimab of Lebanon, N.H., DNA sequencing company Ion Torrent of Guilford, Conn., and Cambridge not-for-profit medical research group Medicine in Need.

The companies were selected as the most innovative technology startups and “are poised to have a critical impact on the future of business, industry and society.” The companies will participate in a World Economic Forum event in China later this month.
