Another buyout adds to iMedx med transcription leadership

By Michelle Lang

Medical transcription firm iMedX Inc., of Shelton, Conn., has announced its acquisition of Louisiana-based MedTech Transcriptions Inc. The buyout is the fifth acquisition iMedX has completed in 12 months.

A news release from iMedX notes that the customer service and production staff at MedTech will join iMedX’s team. MedTech founder and CEO Bruce Bonar is expected to help iMedX with the transition.

IMedX develops TurboScribe, a Web-based transcription service; TurboRecord, its electronic medical record service; and TurboRx, the company’s e-prescription software.

Among the latest acquisitions that iMedX has made is WorldTech Inc., a San Antonio, Texas, transcription firm bought last August.
