Viridity Software takes in $8M funding round

By Kyle Alspach

Burlington-based Viridity Software Inc. has raised $8 million in a Series B round, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The energy management software firm, which focuses on the data center industry, raised the funding from Battery Ventures and North Bridge Venture Partners, said  Chris Rocca, co-founder and vice president of engineering at the firm.

The company expanded its staff by a dozen employees, to 30, in July amid rising demand for energy efficiency services, Rocca previously told Mass High Tech.

Viridity previously raised $7 million in a Series A round in late 2008 from the same investors.
