DiagnosisONE takes $5M from Edison Venture

By Rodney Brown

Health-care software provider DiagnosisONE Inc. of Nashua, N.H., has raised $5 million from Edison Venture Fund to expand its sales and marketing efforts, as well as further product development, officials said.

DiagnosisONE makes a health-care information technology product called D.1 Pathway, that is a data analytics tool intended to help health-care providers, hospitals and health plans make point-of-care decisions about patient care. The company launched D.1 Pathway in March of 2006.

Edison is the only institutional investor in the round, which it described as an “expansion stage” funding. Michael Balmuth, a general partner at Edison, joined the DecisionONE board, along with Edison Director Network member Zach Henderson. Based in New Jersey, Edison has an office in Needham.

In addition to Clinical Decision Support, DiagnosisONE makes a monitoring system for flagging and tracking disease outbreaks called D.1 Surveillance. In 2008, DiagnosisONE landed a contract from Center for Disease control and Prevention to develop and install a public health-care IT infrastructure for the government of Pakistan.
