
Boston venture capital firm Flybridge Capital has promoted Matt Witheiler from senior associate to principal.
Witheiler joined Flybridge in June 2008, dealing with information technology in digital media, financial technology and semiconductors. He sits on the board of The Capital Network and serves as an observer on the boards of Sand 9 Inc., DataXu Inc., Ready Financial and a company currently in stealth mode. He is a founding executive committee member of venture and angel investor network FirstGrowth Venture Network, which supports early-stage entrepreneurs in New York.
Prior career highlights include a summer associate role at investment firm Jefferies Broadview, as well as a four-year role as co-owner and senior hardware editor of hardware-focused website, Anandtech.com.
Witheiler earned his master of business administration degree at Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in public policy studies at Duke University.
Flybridge Capital manages about $560 million in three funds, which focus on private companies in healthcare, energy, consumer and information technology sectors.
