A123 co-founder Fulop reported to take North Bridge investor role
By Michelle Lang
Ric Fulop, co-founder of Waltham battery company A123 Systems Inc., is taking an investing partnership position with North Bridge Venture Partners, according to a report from Boston Globe blogger Scott Kirsner.
Fulop co-founded A123 Systems (Nasdaq: AONE) in 2001 with Yet-Ming Chiang and Bart Riley and served as the company’s vice president of business development. He left A123 in February, citing personal reasons.
A serial entrepreneur, he has founded six technology companies in the fields of energy storage, semiconductors, software and wireless communications, according to the A123 website. Fulop was a Sloan Fellow at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he earned his MBA degree.
A123 completed its $371 million initial public offering in September 2009. North Bridge Venture Partners was an early investor in the company.
