

Fifteen companies and two members of the Massachusetts technology community were honored by the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) at the industry organization’s 7th Annual MITX Technology Awards last night at the Marriott Copley Place.
Individual awards went to Brightcove Inc. CEO Jeremy Allaire, who was named to the MITX Hall of Fame, and to former Wall Street Journal technology writer Bill Bulkeley.
Kiki Mills, president of MITX, said the winning technology companies and finalists in various categories are some of the “most dynamic, creative thinking companies in the digital space.” She added, “MITX advocates for their recognition and growth, as they are a vital contributor to the region’s economy and clout in the technology industry.”
Several companies were honored in a technology category and with a “promise award” for growth potential. The award winners and their categories were:
- Online marketplace Daily Grommet in Innovative Business Strategy
- Advertising optimization platform provider DataXu in Online Advertising
- Security monitoring system maker en-Gauge Inc. in Devices
- Messaging application maker Episend for the PwC Promise Award
- Jewelry website Gemvara Inc. for two categories, E-Commerce/Alternative Retail and Best Sector Impact
- Video management service provider Gotuit in Rich Media
- Peer-to-peer messaging company MediaFriends Inc. in Mobile Applications
- In-store media company Modiv Media for two categories, Marketing/Customer Relationship Technology and Best Overall Solution
- Online storage management company Nasuni Corp. in Cloud Computing
- International trade information provider Panjiva for two categories, Best Sector Impact and PwC Promise Award
- Customer satisfaction rating site RatePoint in Social Media
- Brand counterfeiting protection provider Sproxil in Mobile Infrastructure and PwC Promise Award
- Messaging switch maker Tervela Inc. in Technology Enablers
- Database management system provider Vertica Systems Inc. in Analytics and Business Intelligence
- Video marketing tools provider VisibleGains in Best Usability
