Startup Watch: Five you should follow

As part of each week’s Startup Report, Mass High Tech highlights five startup companies, and their business goals, that are profiled in the New England Tech Directory. With each week's Startup Watch, Mass High Tech will choose the weekly featured companies by soliciting nominations through a poll of 10 companies, with links to their profiles in the New England Tech Directory. Apperian Inc.: One-year-old Apperian Inc., based in Boston, creates iPhone applications. Its developers hail directly from Apple Inc.
Applico LLC: Founded in 2009, Applico develops customized mobile applications for Blackberry, Android and iPhone platforms.
Capturecode: CaptureCode is a Waltham marketing solutions firm that relies on email, gift cards and loyalty to build business. The company was founded in 2007.
Peekaboo Mobile: Boston startup Peekaboo Mobile provides marketing and coupons unique to individual smartphone users, relying on the phone’s GPS location.
Tixlist.com: Founded in 2009, TixList offers a free daily email that connects ticket buyers in the Boston area with ticket sellers. The Boston-based startup gets its tickets from season ticket holders, Craiglist and StubHub.
