InstallFree Inc., a Connecticut maker of desktop and application virtualization software, has taken in $3 million in new funding, according to federal documents. The new funds are a Series C round, and the company stated it is looking for a total of $3.76 million in the round.
According to the documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, among InstallFree’s directors are Yuval Neeman and Peter Van Oppen, both of Trilogy Equity Partners LLC and Richard Fade of Ignition Venture Partners. Ignition and Trilogy, both based in Bellevue, Wash., were both involved in Stamford-based InstallFree’s Series B round, which brought in $8.5 million in August of 2008.
That Series B round followed a $1.7 million round of funding closed in January of 2008, primarily from U.S.-based angel investors. InstallFree launched its first product in April of that year.
Founded in mid-2006, InstallFree has employees in Israel and the United States. Target markets include financial services, insurance and pharmaceutical industries. Its primary products are InstallFree Bridge and InstallFree Desktop. Bridge allows on-demand streaming of virtual applications to a Windows-based platform without needing a client-server connection. Desktop is a complete virtual desktop that operates on top of an existing desktop operating system.
