The Pitch

Gloucester brothers say Udine4less.com is ready to fly

By Mass High Tech staff

Headquarters: Gloucester
URL: Udine4less.com
Email: Fgentile@udine4less.com
Employees: 5
Year founded: 2007
The Pitch: $500,000

In the company’s own words: “This is a rapidly growing restaurant website created by two guys from Gloucester. It is the ultimate restaurant site that caters to the dining public, and creates a one-stop shop for restaurant owners to market their establishment. You can view virtual menus, print money-saving coupons, enter contests, buy discount gift certificates, post to Facebook and Twitter, view daily specials and more.”

The business plan: “Udine4less.com will change the way that businesses and restaurants advertise their company. With the use of the virtual whiteboard, coupon campaigns and the ability to sell gift certificates online, we feel we will have the majority of restaurants signing on to udine4less.com in the coming years. If we are bringing in over $10,000 in revenue from one small city in Massachusetts (Gloucester), then it is easy math. Every 100 cities that we bring on, we will have revenue of over $1 million yearly. Multiply that by 1,000 cities, and the numbers are astronomical. We have a proven template that has been put in place and proven to work. We now have over 300 clients, and we have grown 93 percent from 2008 to 2010.”

The people behind Udine4less.com: The co-founders are brothers Frank and Tony Gentile of Gloucester. Frank managed restaurants and nightclubs in California, returning to Massachusetts to do technical support for software company Timeslips and sales for another software company, Hummingbird, now part of OpenText. Tony Gentile has worked as a project manager for a company in Boston, and later worked with companies and a city government in California.

Likely competitors and what sets you apart: “We feel our only true competitor is Restaurant.com. But we feel Udine4less.com offers so many other features to diners and restaurant owners, in a few years Udine4less.com will be the market leader.”

Financials: The company says it has been profitable “from year one.”
