Raytheon Co. reports it has landed $11.9 million from the U.S. Army for Patriot missile components.
Under the deal, a modification to a contract won in January 2008, Raytheon’s Tewksbury-based Integrated Defense Systems unit will provide materials and technical services to the Army’s Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal, Ala. Raytheon IDS will continue to manufacture, assemble and test the missiles through 2010.
Work on the contract will be performed at Raytheon IDS’ Integrated Air Defense Systems in Andover, at IDS headquarters in Tewksbury, and at Raytheon Technical Services Co. in Burlington, as well as in Texas and Pennsylvania.
Last month, Raytheon brought in $886 million from the U.S. Air Force to develop technology to improve the accuracy of GPS satellite information.
Raytheon technology coordinator Lauren Crews was named a 2010 Mass High Tech Woman to Watch for, among other things, her significant contributions to radar programs for the defense of the U.S. She and the other nine women will be honored at an event Friday morning at the Fairmont Copley.
