General Electric Aircraft Engines has landed $326.1 million from the U.S. Navy for aircraft engines, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Under the deal, a modification to a previously won contract, the Lynn-based GE division will provide 80 F414-GE-400 engines and two spare engines. GE will also provide one engine fan module, eight engine high-pressure turbine modules, 33 combuster modules and 80 engine device kits. Work on the contract will be conducted in Lynn, Hooksett, N.H., and Rutland, Vt., as well as in Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina, New Mexico and Quebec. Work on the contract is expected to be completed by May 2012.
The F414-GE-400 engine powers the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and the EA-18G Growler fighter jets.
In December, GE Aircraft Engines brought in $85.7 million from the Department of Defense to repair and replace aircraft engine components.
