Systematics Inc., a maker of on-premises systems for records storage and management based in Westborough, has been acquired by National Office Systems of Maryland.
According to NOS officials, Systematics will be officially renamed National Office Systems, New England Inc., and will stay branded as Systematics. The company will stay in Westborough with no anticipated layoffs. Systematics president Tom Schaefer, who has been with the firm since 1991, remains at the helm of the company, which was established in 1981. NOS president Dan Harbison will continue in that role and will serve as chairman of the board of Systematics.
No financial terms of the acquisition deal were disclosed.
Systematics got its start making high density and mobile shelving, and has since expanded into technologies such as automated storage and retrieval systems, radio frequency identification and file-tracking software.
National Office Systems reported record sales in 2009, officials said. The Systematics purchase will allow NOS to expand its presence to government, institutional and educational facilities in New England.
