DIGITS names Greenfield as project director
By Mass High Tech staff
DIGITS, a tech sector initiative aimed at increasing interest in science, technology, engineering and math subjects among sixth graders, has named Carol Greenfield as project director.
Greenfield, who spent 17 years as vice president of programs and communications for the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council, will be responsible for the rollout of the volunteer program across Massachusetts, working with individual schools and helping to plan for the expansion of the program. She will report to project chair and president emerita of the MTLC Joyce L. Plotkin.
After working with the MTLC, Greenfield was a director at Truman Co., an executive relationship marketing company. Her work at Truman focused on developing executive communities, executive content and executive events.
DIGITS, founded in October, partners STEM professionals — individuals who work in science and technology companies — with the more than 500 Massachusetts schools that have a sixth grade to increase student interest in math and science subjects and careers. The project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education’s STEM Pipeline Fund.
