Insight Technology sees $34M deal with night vision goggles

Insight Technology Inc. has landed $34.1 million from the U.S. Navy to develop imaging technology for night vision goggles, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

Under the contract, Londonderry, N.H.-based Insight will develop thermal imaging and “image intensification” technology for the Fusion Goggle System Version 4, worn by special operations forces. The goggles are intended to increase situational awareness for soldiers, according to the Department of Defense.

Work will be performed in Londonderry and is expected to be completed by March 2015. 

Earlier this month, Insight was acquired by New York-based defense and security technology firm L-3 Communications Inc.
