EMC appoints Breen to VP of strategic alliances

Data storage giant EMC Corp. has named Accenture veteran Terry Breen as the company’s senior vice president of strategic alliances, where he will be charged with establishing and growing the company’s relationships with its partners of outsourcing companies, systems integators and service providers. In his new role, Breen will report to EMC vice chairman Bill Teuber.
Prior to joining Hopkinton-based EMC (NYSE: EMC), Breen worked as global managing partner of electronics and high tech industry practice at Accenture, in addition to serving as a member of the Accenture Global Leadership Council. He worked with EMC, among other clients, previously when he held the global managing partner role for Accenture’s management consulting group.
Breen earned a master of business administration degree from George Washington University and a bachelor of arts degree from Amherst College.
EMC has made a number of acquisitions recently, including its January buy of Archer Technologies, a maker of IT security and risk management software, as well as its 2009 acquisitions of e-discovery software firm Kazeon Systems Inc., its buyout of enterprise IT firm FastScale Technology Inc., and its $2.1 billion acquisition of Data Domain.
