Westborough-based Wadsworth Medical Technologies Inc. reports its DermaLOC wound closure system and its components will be manufactured by Haverhill-based Baril Corp. and Sturbridge-based G&F Industries Inc. in what the company said is an effort to create jobs in Massachusetts and increase the state’s tax base.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Baril and G&F replace two out-of-state manfacturers for DermaLOC, which applies tension to skin wounds to close them without anesthesia or sutures.
Last April, Wadsworth was one of seven companies receiving a loan from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center. The companies getting loans were eligible for as much a $500,000, which was intended to support R&D, manufacturing and sales.
Wadsworth won FDA approval for DermaLOC in September.
Baril specializes in die cutting, laser cutting, multi-layer laminating and tool making for the medical device, clean technology and defense markets. G&F specialized in custom injection molding for medical and technical devices.
