DiPentima joins Providence Equity Partners

Renato DiPentima has taken a senior advisor position with Providence Equity Partners, a Rhode Island private equity investment firm that specializes in media, communications, entertainment and information services companies.

DiPentima will be responsible for advising the firm on new government information services investments. He will also sit on the board of Altegrity Inc., an investigative, security and training services firm for both federal government and commercial business.

Prior to joining Providence Equity, DiPentima served as president, CEO and board director of SRA International Inc., a technology and consulting firm for national security, government and global health. Before working for SRA International for 13 years, DiPentima worked for the federal government as the Social Security Administration’s deputy commissioner and as chairman of the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Improvement Team.

DiPentima serves on the boards of Brocade Communication Systems Inc., Capgemini Government Solutions LLC, Redhat Inc., Blue Delta Capital Partners and SE Solutions Inc.

Providence Equity Partners, founded in 1989, manages funds with about $21 billion in equity commitments and have invested in more than 100 companies. In December, the firm also appointed Eran Broshy, former CEO of inVentive Health Inc., as a senior advisor.
