
Security software developer Veracode Inc. has raised $12.3 million in venture capital.
The Burlington-based company said eight investors participated in the round, which commenced Jan. 29. Investors were not identified.
Reached by phone Monday, Veracode chief financial officer Gary Vilchick said the company was not ready to publicly comment on the offering.
Founded in 2005, Veracode spun out of Cupertino, Calif.-based Symantec Corp. with $19.5 million in venture backing from Waltham-based Atlas Venture and Polaris Venture Partners, among others.
In March 2009, the company landed a $5 million round led by Atlas, Polaris, .406 Ventures, Macrovision Corp., Symantec and In-Q-Tel, the Central Intelligence Agency’s venture arm.
