By Mass High Tech staff
Lexington-based molecular diagnostics firm Predictive Biosciences Inc. has appointed Kim Blickenstaff to its seven-member board of directors.
Blickenstaff currently serves as president and CEO of Tandem Diabetes Care Inc. of San Diego. Before taking that role in 2007, he held the roles of chairman, CEO and co-founder of Biosite Inc., a San Diego medical diagnostic company that was acquired by Waltham-based Inverness Medical Innovations Inc. for $1.8 billion in 2007. Blickenstaff has also held board positions at healthcare firms SenoRx and MediVation Inc. He graduated from Loyola University with a M.B.A.
Among others, Predictive Biosciences includes on its board Flybridge Capital general partner Michael Greeley, who serves as chairman of the board, and prominent MIT professor Robert Langer, a longtime board member.
Predictive Biosciences was founded in 2006 with technology licensed from the Children’s Hospital Boston. The company is backed by Flybridge Capital Partners, Highland Capital Partners, Kaiser Permanente Ventures and New Enterprise Associates.
The Lexington biotech raised $22 million in a Series B financing in October 2008, intended to fund clinical trials for its oncology testing assays.
