Bluesocket Inc. moves to new digs in same business park in Burlington

Dan Sullivan, Adam Subber and Matt Harvey of CresaPartners in Boston recently represented Bluesocket Inc. in a lease of 11,513 square feet in a 27,250-square-foot office building at 52 Second Ave. in Burlington. CresaPartners is a corporate real estate advisory firm that exclusively represents tenants. Bluesocket, a provider of open, secure, software-based enterprise mobility solutions, is relocating from 10 North Avenue in Burlington to the new address in February. The move allows the company to remain in the same business complex, Northwest Park. The landlord, Nordblom, was represented in-house by Douglas Wynard.


MathWorks buys One Apple Hill for $30.8M

The MathWorks Inc. acquired One Apple Hill in Natick from Atlantic Philadelphia Realty for $30.8 million. One Apple Hill is a three-story office building which totals approximately 170,000 SF. In addition MathWorks received approvals to build an additional 150,000 SF at Apple Hill. MathWorks also occupies Two and Three Apple Hill which it acquired in 2004. Garry Holmes of R.W. Holmes Realty represented MathWorks and David Capobianco and Zoe Zink of Atlantic Management negotiated on behalf of the seller. 
 


Telecom

National Telecommuting Institute commutes to Canal Street


NAI Hunneman brokered a 4,644-square-foot office lease for the National Telecommuting Institute at 69 Canal St. in Boston’s Bulfinch Triangle area. The National Telecommuting Institute, an educational/job-matching organization focused on the development of telework jobs for Americans with disabilities, signed a new lease for 4,644 square feet. The institute will relocate its headquarters to 69 Canal St. from 11 Arlington St. in Boston. Bonny Doorakian, senior associate at NAI Hunneman, represented NTI in the transaction. Karyn McFarland and Matt Twombly of Grubb & Ellis represented the landlord, Raymond Property Co.



Networks

Acme Packet relocates, expands from Burlington to Bedford


Grubb & Ellis Co. represented Acme Packet Inc. in a long-term lease of 125,000 square feet of office and engineering space at 100 Crosby Drive in Bedford. The lease represents an expansion for the global communications technology company. Acme Packet is relocating from two locations in Burlington totaling approximately 75,000 square feet of space. The new lease includes an expansion option, which, if exercised, would bring the total space to 145,000 square feet — the entire east tower of the property. Formerly leased to IBM Corp., is a 261,900-square-foot building on 50 acres. Bradford Spencer, senior vice president, industrial group at Grubb & Ellis, facilitated the transaction. John Wilson, a partner at Richards Barry Joyce & Partners represented the landlord, San Francisco-based Divco West Real Estate Services.


Life Sciences

French firm Cytoo sites North American headquarters in Framingham

Cushman & Wakefield helped Cytoo Inc. lease 1,300 square feet at The Meadows, 161 Worcester Road, in Framingham. This is the first office in the United States for the France-based life sciences company. Cytoo Inc. is focused on products for the life science research market with an emphasis in cell-based assays, high content analysis and cell screening. The company is a fully-owned subsidiary of Cytoo SA, which is headquartered in Grenoble, France. Cytoo Inc. was represented by Stephen Woelfel, Jr., associate at Cushman & Wakefield of Massachusetts Inc. CBRE-NE represented the landlord, Colony Realty Partners.


Aushon BioSystems renews lease in Billerica

Aushon BioSystems Inc. has renewed a 21,500-square-foot lease for its headquarters at 43 Manning Road in Billerica. Tad Lee and Matt Daniels of Colliers Meredith & Grew represented Aushon Biosystems in the transaction. Jason Levendusky of CB Richard Ellis New England represented the landlord, RREEF. Built in 1984, 43 Manning Road is a two-story, 43,228-square-foot manufacturing building conveniently located off of Route 3 in Billerica. The building is fully leased. Aushon BioSystems provides advanced microarray instrumentation and laboratory services for biomarker discovery, development and analysis.
