eClinicalWorks lands business with SPI network

By Mass High Tech staff

Westborough-based eClinicalWorks LLC has been chosen by Summa Physicians Inc. (SPI) to provide electronic medical records for the company’s 223 doctors in 33 specialty fields.

No financial terms of the deal were disclosed, but Ohio-based Summa Physicians said that the relationship eClinicalWorks had established with Summa Health Systems since 2006 led to the new deal.

The collaborative deal calls for eClinicalWorks to aid in setting up Summa Physicians with electronic medical records that may attract reimbursement funding under the American Recover and Reinvestment Act.

Summa Physicians connects hospitals, community health centers, physician organization and research foundations through a given network.

eClinicalWorks has 34,000 providers and 100,000 healthcare professionals as customers. The company maintains officers in New York City, Alpharetta, Ga., and Pleasanton, Calif.
