
Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. brought in more than $1.5 billion in two deals from the U.S. Army for more than 100 helicopters, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Under one deal, Sikorsky landed $923.7 million extension for 46 UH-60 M Black Hawk helicopters and 21 HH-60M Medevac helicopters for the Army. The deal also includes an option for 10 additional Black Hawks.
Under a separate deal, the Army gave Sikorsky $600.7 million for 18 MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopters and 24 MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopters for the Navy.
Work on both deals will be performed in Stratford, Conn., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2012.
Sikorsky is a subsidiary of Hartford, Conn.-based United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX). United Technologies reported a net income of $1.1 billion on revenue of $13.4 billion for the quarter ended September 30.
