

The venture capital industry may be in a fundraising slump, but that hasn’t hampered Google Ventures. The venture-capital investing group has only one limited partner, and that partner appears intent on increasing its involvement in the venture-capital game.
Google Ventures, the venture-capital investing arm of Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG), is planning to add new investing partners, the wire service Reuters reports this morning.
With partners Rich Miner based in Cambridge, and Bill Maris based at the company’s headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., Google Ventures currently has two investing partners. The two partners have so far made eight investments, Reuters reported.
Google has so far not disclosed the names of any new partners, but Maris told a Reuters reporter the firm is looking to expand.
This morning, VigLink Inc., an Internet company launched in Boston but currently headquartered in San Francisco, announced that it had closed a seed investment from investors including Google Ventures. Mass High Tech first reported the financing, worth $800,000, in June.
