Mascoma Corp., the Lebanon, N.H., cellulosic ethanol developer, announced today that Cabot Corp. executive vice president William Brady will be the company’s next chief executive.
Brady, who had been general manager for the Boston-based Cabot’s core rubber blacks segment, will be the permanent replacement for Bruce Jamerson, who stepped down from the CEO position in August but remains chairman of Mascoma.
“I am delighted to introduce Bill Brady as the new CEO of Mascoma and to work closely with him on achieving our goal of full scale commercial production of cellulosic ethanol,” Jamerson said in a statement. “Bill has extensive experience running large commercial divisions for a major chemical company, which is exactly the skill set we need as Mascoma transitions into a commercial enterprise. Additionally, his strong international experience will be critical as Mascoma begins to penetrate international markets.”
Brady will be charged with advancing the company’s cellulosic ethanol development and the construction of a commercial-scale pilot production plant in Kincross Township, Mich.
Mascoma interim president Jim Flatt will continue as executive vice president, research and development/operations at Mascoma.
