GD's Bath Iron Works wins $7M Naval contract

By Brendan Lynch

General Dynamics Corp.’s Bath Iron Works unit has landed $6.9 million from the U.S. Navy for engineering on Navy destroyers, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

Under the deal, Bath Iron Works will perform systems engineering on the design and construction of the Navy’s DDG 1000 Zumwalt Class destroyer. The Bath, Maine-based company will also develop a training curriculum, support documentation, maintenance analyses and other services.

Work on the contract will be performed in Bath, and is expected to be completed by November.

In July, Bath Iron Works landed $33.1 million from the U.S. Navy for services on Navy destroyers.
