Online video platform Brightcove Inc. has named Adobe Systems Inc. veteran David Mendels as its new president and COO. Mendels has served on the Brightcove board of directors since late 2008, a role he will continue to hold.
Mendels joins Brightcove having most recently worked as executive vice president and general manager for Adobe’s enterprise software and business productivity division. Prior to his role at Adobe, he worked for Macromedia (before its acquisition by Adobe), where he managed the company’s Flash and Flex line, Macromedia Studio and ColdFusion.
Mendels worked recently as an advisor to retail website developer Allurent Inc. He was also a fellow at the New England Clean Energy Council.
