By Mass High Tech staff

Zoll Medical Corp., a medical device maker in Chelmsford, has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its Zoll E Series Monitor/Defibrillator with carbon monoxide monitoring.

The product is designed to detect carbon monoxide poisoning with a button push, enabling early treatment. The E Series has a see-through CPR filter, Real CPR Help for real-time feedback of chest compressions, and wireless 12-lead transmission.

Zoll (Nasdaq: ZOLL) makes devices and associated software for cardiac pacing, defibrillation, circulation, ventilation, and fluid resuscitation. It sells its products in more than 140 countries.

In August, Zoll Medical received FDA approvel to market and sell its new model of the LifeVest wearable defibrillator.
