DRC wins $7.4M Air Force parts tracking deal
By Mass High Tech staff
Dynamics Research Corp. has won a $7.4 million contract from Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) for support of the Weapon System Management Information System (WSMIS), a parts and weaponry lifecycle software tracking program for the U.S. Air Force.
DRC (Nasdaq: DRCO) will provide maintenance, sustainment, integration and migration. The seven-month contract has four one-year options.
The WSMIS provides real-time tracking of aircraft parts, and DRC will incorporate the system into the Global Combat Support System, Data Services warehouse and Enterprise Service Bus.
Andover-based DRC won a similar Air Force parts tracking contract in October, worth $20.2 million. The two-year, nine-month order was intended to help DRC develop technology to mark parts used in Air Force planes.
