Just a few days after inking a $10 million venture loan, PlumChoice Inc. has announced that it’s beefed up its C-level suite of executives. Chanchal Samanta, a former executive at PatientKeeper, has joined PlumChoice as CTO, a newly created position for the Billerica-based remote help desk company, according to a press release posted this morning. The company website, however, lists Samata as having joined PlumChoice in October.
At PatientKeeper Inc., a Newton healthcare IT company, Samanta was vice president of development. Prior to PatientKeeper, he held vice president-level positions in research and development and IT at Westborough-based Applix Inc., Unica Corp. (Nasdaq: UNCA), Alcatel-Lucent’s (Nasdaq: ADR) Genesys Labs and Fidelity Investments.
With about 700 employees, PlumChoice provides outsourced support for software and technology such as PCs, peripherals, digital cameras and smart phones. The company has taken in a total of about $30 million in venture investment from Edison Venture Fund, Silicon Valley Bank and other investors.
In October, it opened a regional support and training facility in Scarborough, Maine.
