Harvard Business School kicks off $25,000 business plan challenge
By Brendan Lynch
Harvard Business School has launched an entrepreneurship competition called the New Venture Contest, according to the school. The school’s Arthur Rock Center for Entrepreneurship is sponsoring the contest, which comes with a $25,000 grand prize.
Regional competitions are planned for Boston, New York, Chicago, northern and southern California, London, Brazil, and India. Teams will be judged by a panel of venture capitalists, private equity professionals and angel investors. The top teams will be chosen in February and the winner will be selected at Harvard Business School in April.
The contest is open to anyone with an idea, though each team must have at least one Harvard Business School alum as a member.
The contest starts with a 1-minute pitch contest at Harvard Business School in Cambridge. Carbonite Inc. COO Keith Cooper, Celarix co-founder Graham Lubie and Virid.us founder Furqan Nazeeri will speak on a panel discussing entrepreneurship.
