2009 Tech Citizenship honoree: MembersFirst Inc.

MembersFirst Inc. specializes in web marketing strategies for the hospitality and leisure industry, so it’s only natural that it has been a strong supporter of the golf-focused charity The First Tee. Thanks to the support from MembersFirst, The First Tee has been able to influence and enhance the lives of more than 2.2 million youth participants and students in 48 states and four international locations, according to First Tee officials.

“Corporate giving, particularly in our support of The First Tee and Golf Fight’s Cancer, has always been central to our philosophy of providing assistance where it has the greatest impact — on both a local and emotional level,” said John Blake, president and CEO.

While sports- and activity-related charities may strike a chord with the employees at MembersFirst, the Wayland-based company also gives aid to the education community, at Quinnipiac University and Salve Regina University,  and to health care, through the Emerson Hospital Foundation and the American Cancer Society. In addition, MembersFirst focuses on the poor and the homeless by supporting The Lazarus House in Lawrence, and children get a strong share of attention with support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
