Biotech startup Ligon Discovery attracts $1M in VC funds

Cambridge startup Ligon Discovery Inc. reports it has landed $1 million in funding from incTank Ventures.

Ligon is a biotechnology company using proprietary small molecule microarray technology to identify drug candidates. The startup said it plans to use the funding to screen more than 100 proteins to determine their viability as drugs.

Ligon
was founded by Patrick Kleyn, Angela Koehler and Benjamin Ebert, with technology licensed from Harvard University and MIT’s Broad Institute.

Christian Bailey, general partner at Cambridge-based incTank, will join Ligon’s board of directors.
