Clancy leaves Iron Mountain Digital for Schooner Capital

Iron Mountain Digital disclosed Wednesday the chief of its digital business unit will be leaving at the end of the year and will be replaced by the founder of its eDiscovery product unit.
John Clancy, president of Iron Mountain Digital, is leaving the Boston records management company (NYSE: IRM) to become CEO in Residence at Boston investment shop Schooner Capital LLC. The firm is a major investor in lron Mountain and is located in the same building as Iron Mountain’s headquarters.
During Clancy’s tenure, the digital unit, which includes digital records storage services and software to organize and recover information, grew to $230 million from $50 million.
He will be replaced by Ramana Venkata, chief operating officer of Iron Mountain Digital. Venkata founded and was the CEO of Stratify Inc., an electronic records discovery software platform for law firms, in 2009. Iron Mountain acquired Stratify in 2007.

This powerful concept is why I joined Iron Mountain in the first place.”
