
Raytheon Co. has landed $20.5 million from the U.S. Army to provide Patriot missile spare parts to the State of Kuwait.
Under the Foreign Military Sales contract, Raytheon’s (NYSE:RTN) Integrated Defense Systems unit will provide spare parts for configuration 3 radar systems. The parts are intended to improve the radar system’s ability to detect small targets in a cluttered environment, and detect tactical ballistic missile warheads. The parts are also intended to increase the radar system’s scanning area.
Work on the contract will be performed at Raytheon’s Integrated Air Defense Center in Andover.
Last week, Raytheon IDS brought in two big deals. The Tewksbury-based Raytheon unit won $197 million from the U.S. Navy for software engineering on amphibious warfare ships. Raytheon IDS also brought in $241 million from the U.S. Navy to complete work on software used on DDG 1000 Zumwalt class destroyers.
Waltham-based Raytheon reported a net income of $490 million on revenue of $6.2 billion for the quarter ended September 27.
