
Raytheon Co.’s Integrated Defense Systems reports it has landed $241 million from the U.S. Navy to complete work on software for Navy destroyers, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Under the contract, Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems unit will re-plan and develop the DDG 1000 Zumwalt Class Destroyer’s Total Ship Computing Environment software, conduct testing on a docked destroyer and deliver ship-activation software. Work on the contract will be performed at Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) IDS headquarters in Tewksbury, and at Raytheon facilities in Burlington and Marlborough, as well as in New Jersey, Indiana, Virginia and Colorado. Work on the deal is expected to be completed by March 2012.
In other Raytheon news, on Thursday the defense giant said it won $197 million from the U.S. Navy for engineering on amphibious warfare ships. Under the deal, Raytheon will perform engineering on the LPD 17 amphibious warship.
Waltham-based Raytheon reported a net income of $490 million on revenue of $6.2 billion for the quarter ended Sept. 27.
