
North Atlantic Capital has participated in a $9 million funding for Voxeo Corp., a Florida-based maker of voice-over Internet protocol (VoIP), voice response, text, instant messaging and unified communications software. Florida Growth Fund also joined the round.
According to a press release issued today, Voxeo will use the funds to expand its own development efforts and make corporate acquisition. The Orlando-based company has acquired three companies in the past 14 months, according to the press release.
Founded in 1986, Portland, Maine-based North Atlantic Capital is currently investing out of its fourth venture fund, worth $200 million, closed in 2007. Last year the firm made new investments in New York-based KickApps Corp. and Atlanta-based Astadia Inc. Its New England portfolio companies include Tangoe Inc. of Orange, Conn., and Waltham-based Invoke Solutions Inc.
