Cambridge Heart partners with Cardiac Science
By Mass High Tech staff
Cambridge Heart Inc., a Tewksbury maker of noninvasive diagnostic tools for cardiac disease, has partnered with Cardiac Science Corp., a Bothell, Wash.-based developer of cardiology diagnostic systems.
The partnership entails the development of Cambridge Heart’s Microvolt T-Wave Alternans (MTWA) module to be used in Cardiac Science’s cardiac stress test systems. Cambridge Heart announced in June its strategic plans to increase sales through partnerships with stress-test system makers. The MTWA module, which can measure small fluctuations in heartbeat, has a prototype developed and now awaits regulatory approval.
In August, an investor in Cambridge Heart (OTCBB-CAMH), Blumberg Capital Advisors, announced that it sold 1.7 million shares of its stock. Founded in 1990, Cambridge Heart developed the MTWA module based on research from MIT.
No financial terms of the partnership were disclosed.
