By Mass High Tech staff
Awareness Inc., a Waltham-based on-demand social media marketing software firm, has appointed Mark Cattini as its new CEO.
Cattini joins Awareness having previously served as president of marketing services at Pitney Bowes, where he oversaw three of its acquired companies. Before Pitney Bowes bought MapInfo Corp. for $500 million in 2007, Cattini held the role of president and CEO at the acquired company. He also held sales positions at Lotus Development Corp. for eight years in his earlier career.
Launched in 2005, Awareness changed its name from iUpload Inc. in 2007 at the same time it brought in a round of funding from current backers and Waltham venture capital firms Greylock Partners and NorthBridge Venture Partners, and it also had named a new executive team, including John Bruce as CEO of the company at the time. Bruce is now executive chairman of Quickcomm Software Solutions Inc.
Awareness is an on-demand social media platform to enable enterprises to create online communities. Customers include McDonald’s Corp., Eastman Kodak Co. and the New York Times Co.
