By Mass High Tech staff

Waltham venture capital firm Castile Ventures led a $3.2 million Series C investment in New York health information firm HealthGuru Media, which operates HealthGuru.com. The funding also was backed by return investor Village Ventures.

As part of the financing deal, Castile Ventures general partner Skip Besthoff will join the HealthGuru board of directors.

HealthGuru.com touts itself as the “leading health website for 18 to 40 year olds and the largest provider of health videos online.”

HealthGuru Media officials said the additional funds will help the company grow its web traffic and revenue-generating capabilities. Currently, the website receives as many as two million unique visitors per month.

Castile Ventures was founded in 1998.
