Avior pulls in $1.3M, plans new hires

By Galen Moore

Avior Computing Corp.  has received a $1.3 million tranche of a $1.8 million inside round of financing, the company reported.

Nashua, N.H.-based Avior Computing makes governance, risk and compliance (GRC) software for the enterprise. Its customers mostly include internationally operating Fortune 100 companies, according to chairman, CEO and co-founder Stephen McCalmont.

It’s the second round of funding for angel-backed Avior, according to a regulatory document posted earlier this week; the company took in $4.5 million from its investors in June of 2007.

“Our platform has been in Fortune 100 production environments now for coming up on two years,” McCalmont said. “This is more to roll it out to a broader audience and other markets.”

The company plans to make hires in its sales and marketing divisions, McCalmont said. Founded in 2003, Avior launched its first product in 2006.
