Serica adds Darling and Coleridge to board

Medford-based medical device company Serica Technologies Inc. have named two new members to its board of director — Joseph G. Darling and Scott E. Coleridge.

Darling is the current president of surgical instrument maker ConMed Linvatec. His work history includes previous roles leading sports business and biologics as senior vice president and general manager of Smith & Nephew Inc. Darling has also held sales and marketing positions at Baxter International Inc., Wyeth-Ayerst Pharmaceuticals and Abbott Laboratories, Pharmaceuticals Division. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship.

Coleridge joins the Serica board as a representative of one of the company’s investors, Morningside Technology Ventures Ltd. He has recently served as CEO of Synthon Chiragenics Corp. and executive vice president of FEI Women’s Health LLC. He also co-founded and worked as CEO of Kingston Diagnostics, a whole-blood cholesterol test developer. Coleridge has also served on the board of directors for Critical Biologics Corp., ViOptix Inc., New York Orthopedic USA Inc. and HumanZyme Inc. He graduated with an MBA from Southern Illinois University, an MS from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College.

Serica develops silk-based biomaterial used to repair tissue and ligaments.
