ClickSoftware to buy Israeli firm AiPoint

By Galen Moore

ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CKSW) has inked a $1.5 million cash deal to acquire the assets of AiPoint, an Israeli company that, like ClickSoftware, develops and sells employee shift-planning solutions.

AiPoint’s specialized software is used in retail, telecommunications, transportation and utility industries, according to Clicksoftware’s press release. Burlington-based ClickSoftware plans to integrate AiPoint’s software with its ClickRoster solution, designed to help field service organizations staff employee shifts. The deal is expected to close within the next 30 days.

The deal will allow ClickSoftware to expand into new industry verticals and applications, according to ClickSoftware chairman and CEO Moshe BenBassat.

ClickSoftware did not indicate the number of AiPoint’s employees, or whether the company plans to integrate them into its workforce.
