By Mass High Tech staff
Infinity Pharmaceuticals Inc., a cancer drug discovery and development company in Cambridge, has named Thomas Lynch, director of the Yale Cancer Center and physician-in-chief at Smilow Cancer Hospital, to its board of directors.
Lynch has concentrated his research on lung cancer and, most recently, to mutations of the epidermal growth factor receptor in lung cancer.
Earlier career roles for Lynch include a position as chief of hematology-oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Lynch earned his M.D. from Yale University and served as a fellow in medical oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Infinity (Nasdaq:INFI) was founded in 2001. In September 2006, the company completed its acquisition of Discovery Partners International Inc., a publicly traded company based in San Diego. Following that deal, reportedly worth about $100 million, Infinity became publicly traded.
