PermissionTV renames to VisibleGains, shifts online video strategy

By Galen Moore

PermissionTV Inc. has changed its name to VisibleGains , the company announced today. The name change comes along with a business model shift first reported in Mass High Tech last month.

PermissionTV launched in 2005 as an online video publishing platform software provider. As VisibleGains, it is now turning its focus toward interactive use of online video in the enterprise.

VisibleGains’ software product is aimed at letting marketers qualify sales leads through interactive video posted online. It also hopes to make video a tool for sales, letting salespeople quickly shoot and post video depicting whiteboard presentations and other content and send it to prospects.

CEO Cliff Pollan, who took over earlier this year from former CEO Bob Lentz, has said the company hopes online video will soon be as common as white papers in PDF format. Lentz is now CEO at e-discovery software maker Digital Reef.
