IT consulting firm GlassHouse Technologies Inc. said Tuesday it has acquired Systems Group Integration Ltd., a British virtualization consulting company.
The Framingham IT consulting firm said the deal expands the firm’s relationships with vendors such as Dell and Microsoft, as well as increase its offerings in helping firms run virtual servers or desktops.
“GlassHouse has been operating in the virtualization space for a number of years now and has seen an increase in the large-scale data center projects leveraging virtualization to create a greener and more efficient environment,” said GlassHouse CEO Mark Shirman in a statement.
SGI, based in the southern English town of Frimley, specializes in Microsoft-backed virtualization project management. GlassHouse will integrate SGI’s offerings into its own IT services platform.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In March, GlassHouse withdrew its initial public offering, citing “current market conditions” as the reason, in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company announced its IPO registration in December 2007, when it expressed hopes of raising $100 million.
