Organizers of the Ignite Clean Energy business plan competition have narrowed the field of vying cleantech firms to 10 finalists working on projects from clean coal to wave power.
Some 30 semifinalists presented their business plans to a team of judges at Babson College on Sept. 17 to determine which companies would make it to the finals to be held on Nov. 10 at the State House. Contestants compete for up to $200,000 in cash and in-kind services, as well as receive mentoring services from veteran entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and other business officials.
Finalists include:
ARRIBA Solar
DyPol
EGG-Energy
HydroCoal Technologies
InnoSepra
IntAct Labs, LLC
POWERleap LLC
Resolute Marine Energy
The Paper Battery Company
Velkess
Sponsored by the MIT Enterprise Forum, the Ignite Clean Energy Competition first began in 2004 to bring together entrepreneurs interested in building cleantech companies.
