Solomon Tech’s Technipower unit lands $500K power systems order
By Rodney H. Brown
Technipower LLC, a subsidiary of Danbury, Conn.-based Solomon Technologies Inc., has landed a handful of orders for its SlimLine commercial power systems that total $500,000 in value.
While Solomon (OTC: SOLM) did not release the names of the purchasers, the company did say they were sold to a manufacturer of hardware/software systems that provide interactive digital video and broadband IP services.
Technipower designs and manufactures direct current power supplies and power supply systems. In July of last year, the company won $1.1 million to supply 50 of its Cobalt 15 high voltage power drive systems for laser cutting applications to an unnamed customer.
In February of that year, Technipower won a $150,000 contract to develop and supply a prototype power supply for a new advanced vehicle launch ordinance system for the U.S. military. The contract, from an unnamed branch of the military, called for the company to develop the power supply, which would replace a decades-old system on one of the military’s primary light mobile bombardment platforms.
Solomon Technologies has not filed a quarterly report with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since late last year, for the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2008. In that quarter, the company experienced a net loss of $1.78 million on revenue of $2.38 million.
