DRC explosives detection attracts $3.7M from TSA

By Brendan Lynch

Dynamics Research Corp. reports it has landed $3.7 million from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration for work on explosives detection.

Under the contract, Dynamics Research (Nasdaq: DRCO) will provide project and program management support to the TSA’s National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program (NEDCTP). NEDCTP trains dogs to detect explosives devices on the transportation system. The contract has one base year and four option years, according to the company.

In August, Dynamics Research landed 10 deals worth almost $20 million.

The company took in $14.3 million to provide IT services at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. The $14.3 million comprises two subcontracts from the Centech Group Inc., the prime contractor on the Consolidated Acquisition of Professional Services contract from the U.S. Air Force. Under the contracts, Dynamics Research will provide the 303rd Reconnaissance and 516th Mobility Aeronautical Systems Wings with acquisition management, test, evaluation, engineering, acquisition logistics, configuration, data management, security management, administrative support and contracting support services.

The same month, Dynamics Research brought $2.1 million, comprised of seven separate deals ranging from one to two years in length. Under the deals, Dynamics Research will help the U.S. Army Research Institute develop experiments to test the effectiveness of various training methods.

Lastly, the Andover-based company landed $3.4 million from the U.S. Air Force for engineering and program management. Dynamics Research will work on the Air Force’s Global Cyberspace Integration Center, providing engineering services and program management support to the Air Combat Command Tactical Satellite Terminals and the Single Integrated Air Picture program.
