How We See It
Mass High Tech shifts newspaper to be more entrepreneurial, responsive
By Mass High Tech staff
Here at Mass High Tech, this week’s print edition marks the end of a decade-long run as a weekly newspaper and also a homecoming of sorts: MHT will now return to a twice-monthly print schedule, where it began back in 1981. With the new schedule comes a redesigned look, expanded content and an stronger emphasis on daily reporting online.
In June, we announced the shift to a biweekly print schedule, a more prominent emphasis on our website’s daily news coverage and a new print version that will provide you with more in-depth reporting and perspective. Since then, reader feedback has been overwhelmingly positive — and helpful. You have told us that while you value MHT as the region’s leading source of technology news, your reading habits have changed over the years: You now get your tech business information via the web, RSS feeds, smartphone and more. Moving to a new format on Sept. 9 and building up our daily online news presence allows MHT to maintain its place as New England’s No. 1 source of tech business news, no matter how that news is delivered. With more than 35,000 e-mail newsletter subscribers and well over 100,000 unique website visitors per month, MHT has steadily grown its online offerings, including newsletters dedicated to startups, clean energy, the life sciences and tech finance.
As we continue our growth, we will not only report on the region’s top tech businesses but also act like them, by being nimble, responsive and entrepreneurial in our own right.
